Ganong to me over the years has represented a wounderful time in my families
Christmas celebrations. My Mom was single raising three girls on her
own and times were tough. We had a wonderful Mom who worked very hard
to give
us all we needed-not all we wanted. Because of this upbringing I have
learned to appreciate the little things in life. One thing my Mom always
did at Christmas time was to buy the off cuts box of discounted Ganong
Chocolates. She would say they are just as good but a little broken
or not shaped properly. We didn’t care what they looked like, it was
chocolate – REAL- chocolate! The expensive kind. I remember sneaking
into my Mother’s wardrobe to see if they were there before Christmas
and then sneaking extras when no one was looking-(with that kind of box
no one could tell if a few were missing.) My Mom and sisters and I always
looked forward to your chocolates every year and they became a Christmas
tradition. Today, I am grown and have started my own family and every
Christmas we get the big box Ganong Chocolates. If I didn’t do it
it wouldn’t be Christmas. I eat Ganong all year round now and by
the way there was always a bowl of Ganong Chicken Bones on the Christmas
table too. (How could I have forgotten those?) Thanks again for the
memories.

We absolutely love your new Fruitfull au chocolat !!! The fresh real fruit jellies covered in that rich dark chocolate are such a wonderful combination. Fruitfull au chocolat is your very best product yet. Keep up the good work!

My father-in-law gave his girlfriend a box of your chocolates and asked
her to marry him on Christmas Eve, 63 years ago. Since then they have
been her favorite chocolates. She told me this story about ten years abo
and I have given her the chocolates from her three grandsons ever since.
The delight and joy this simple gift brings is very rewarding.

Good Moring,
As I was sitting down to drop you a quick note, the box from Ganongs
arrived! What great timing…and its my birthday today!! I have
already sampled from each box. In any event, thank you for your very
prompt response to my order.
I was thrilled to find you had a website and I could order all my favorites
without leaving my home.

Hello! I’m a 48 years old teacher craving for a Pal-O-Mine candy
bar. When I was young (long time ago!!), I would spend my summers at my
grandparents’ house in Rimouski Québec. Every day, grandma
would give me, my brother and sisters, some change for an afternoon snack.
I would always by my Pal-O-Mine at the general store across the street.
At the end of the summer, I would always negociate with grandma so she
would buy me a case of Pal-O-Mine to take home (Gatineau) with me! When
I reached the teenage years, I stopped going to grandma’s during
the summer because I had a part time job where I lived with my parents,
in Gatineau. I have always searched for a Pal-O-Mine without success.
I am now married and the mother of two teenagers. I live in Edmonton,
Alberta where, AGAIN, I can not find a Pal-O-Mine anywhere. Can you help
me put an end to this craving?

Thank you for mailing the Pal-O-Mines to my daughter in Ottawa. She was thrilled as she has not been able to find them up there. They arrived at her work, so with 36 in a box, her co-workers were also very happy and want me to order more. I told a friend, and she said she sends a variety of Ganong bars to her sister and family for Christmas every year in Red Deer. A woman at Service NB sends to family in California, Ganong candy also. Based on the few people I mentioned it to, it must be fair to say, NB'ers love their Ganong's and the candy must be a little piece of home when they are so far away.

Just to let you know-my husband's father was from Canada-New Brunswick area-have had your chocolates for many, many years-the remaining sister (she's 82!!) of the father sends them to us in the USA every year (and the Chicken Bones to our children!)-they are always wonderful-BUT this year they were EXCEPTIONAL-very creamy, smooth-wonderful!! Did you change a fomula??-if you did- keep it- if not- maybe we got a fresher batch!!- whatever - we love them and look froward to them every year! - also like that this year you donate to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Keep up the good work and thank you-

Our parents grew up in New Brunswick. That must mean that you grow up with a little sweet tooth. When I met Coleen, I was amazed to learn that her favourite chocolate bar in the world was a Pal O Mine! The first time Coleen & I travelled to New Brunswick together was in October of 2001. I think the first sentence out of her mouth when we decided to drive to a convention in Halifax was: "can we go to the Pal O Mine factory?" Of course we can, it's called Ganong's and we can definitely go. Since that summer, we have visited New Brunswick every year and we never miss the opportunity to go to Ganong's in St. Stephen. Having grown up in Fredericton myself, I enjoyed many summers in St. Stephen with family friends. We enjoy New Brunswick a lot and will return again this summer. Of course, we will visit the Pal O Mine Factory store!
